29 Jun Helmut Newton Documentary now at Annenburg Space for Photography
The exhibit ”Helmut Newton: White Women • Sleepless Nights • Big Nudes, ” featuring the work of the revolutionary fashion photographer is now showing at the Annenberg Space for Photography in Los Angeles. The exhibit, which is the first of Helmut Newton’s work exhibited in Los Angeles (except for gallery shows) , also features a documentary film that I shot in Berlin, called Provocateur.
Commissioned by the Annenberg Space for Photography, the original documentary film examines the legendary photographer’s impact on fashion, on women and on photography – as told by men and women who knew him, worked with him and were influenced by his remarkable vision. Models, stylists, fashion editors, photographers and friends will share unique perspectives on a titan of 20th century fashion photography whose influence lives on.
It was an amazing project to work on, and I am excited to see the film at the museum. You can catch the exhibit and our film anytime until Sunday, September 8th, 2013. Here is a link to the trailer.
